Fleet Jobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Technician to join our team. As a Senior Marine Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex mechanical repairs and installations on marine gas and diesel engines, as well as troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with various ship systems.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and Repair Marine Engines: Troubleshoot and repair marine gas and diesel engines from maintenance to complete overhaul, ensuring all work is done to the highest standards.
- Repair and Rebuild Ship Systems: Repair and rebuild gearsets, transmissions, and stern drives, as well as diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systems.
- Operate Diagnostic Software: Operate diagnostic software to identify and repair issues with various ship systems, including propulsion systems, gensets, and battery bank systems.
- Perform Winterization and Spring Commissioning: Perform winterization and spring commissioning of engines and ship systems, ensuring all systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
- Install New Systems and Equipment: Install new engines, air conditioning systems, pumps, anchor windlass, and other systems and equipment as assigned.
- Perform Mechanical Repairs: Perform mechanical repairs, including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, pumps, and other systems as needed.
- Train and Assist Others: Help train and assist other team members as needed, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
- High School Diploma Required: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
- 6+ Years of Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation is required.
- OEM Certification: OEM certification(s) are required for this role.
- Strong Electrical Troubleshooting Skills: Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are required, as well as the ability to use test instruments and specialty tools.
- Ability to Work in a Team Environment: The ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals is essential.
- Strong Work Ethic and Personal Commitment: A strong work ethic and personal commitment to excellence are required for this role.
- Competitive Salary: A competitive salary of $50,000 - $100,000 per year is offered.
