Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Join The Doctors Clinic team as a Radiology Technologist and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to operate radiology equipment, take clinical diagnostic x-ray films, and work closely with physicians to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
  • Develop and process radiologic film and examine film for properties such as definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Maintain examination rooms, stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records as directed and ensure confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
  • Work as a team member within the radiology department and all other departments to provide seamless patient care.
  • Document work processes as required and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program required.
Certification/Licensure
  • National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R - Radiology.
  • Washington State registration in Radiology.
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
Experience

Minimum one (1) year experience in Radiology.

Skills
  • Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment operation and perform simple adjustments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management, and peers.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
Other Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint areas for radiography.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology, including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
  • Maintain current CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Maintain current Washington State registration in Radiology.
Physical Requirements
  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly to patients and coworkers in person and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens, and including visual examination of patients.

The position is mostly sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day with occasional bending and reaching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing less than 10 pounds, including assisting patients and up to 30 pounds in surgeries when required. Involves potential exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common in a clinical environment.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's directly applicable experience and internal equity within the pay grade. The current wage range is $47.81. You may be eligible for additional pay to include weekend premium, shift premium, and other premiums outlined in the CBA.

Compensation and benefit eligibility are based on FTE, assigned job classification/description, and comply with current union agreements.
