Senior DevOps Professional for Large Scale Systems

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop systems focusing on automation and maintainability at large scales.

- Collaborate with teams, maintaining open communication and reaching across departments.
- Monitor production systems, identifying capacity issues and performing proactive health checks.
- Troubleshoot incidents quickly, remediating issues effectively.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or platform developer in a mid-to-large Linux environment.
- Experience with tools like Ansible, Salt, Jenkins, Vault, Kafka, Zookeeper, and similar technologies.
- Strong IT/Ops background with focus on Process and MOPS.
- Solid understanding of containers, familiar with Kubernetes or other orchestration systems.
- Familiarity with deployment and management systems such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Chef, Packer, Terraform, etc.
- Strong grasp of automation and virtualization of at least one cloud platform (e.g., VMWare, OpenStack, AWS).
- Expertise in building/maintaining/sustaining monitoring systems like Nagios, Op5, etc.
- Strong proficiency in at least one scripting and/or high-level language: Python, Node.js, Java, Shell, Perl, Golang.
- Production experience working with load balancers and web stack-based application environments.
- Solid grasp of operating and managing NoSQL DBs like Cassandra, Hadoop.
- Familiarity with REST/SOAP/JSON APIs.
- Systems and application monitoring and performance tuning knowledge a plus.
- Familiarity with messaging systems like ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, and Kafka is a plus.
- Experience with distributed file systems (GlusterFS/Ceph) a plus.
- Experience in AWS VPC, Networking, and Security.
- Self-motivated, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Master's preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $40-41 per hour on a W2 basis. Generis Tek Inc offers competitive benefits packages including comprehensive medical coverage, generous paid time off, and professional growth opportunities.
