Job Summary

As a Speech Language Pathologist in our Inpatient Rehab department at Helen Devos Children's Hospital, you will provide therapy to patients based on their individual needs and medical direction. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that promote optimal patient outcomes. In addition to providing direct patient care, you will also participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction activities, and program development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide a range of therapy services, including speech, language, and swallowing therapy, to patients of all ages
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and evidence-based treatments
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Michigan
• 2 years of experience in pediatric speech language pathology, preferably in an inpatient setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull carts and equipment as needed

• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
