Position Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is in search of a Civil Project Engineer to become a vital part of our Civil/Site team. This role offers the opportunity to engage in diverse projects, enhancing your professional journey within our Land Development division.


The Civil Project Engineer will apply engineering expertise to execute design tasks, particularly focusing on grading and drainage systems for various development initiatives.

Collaborate with staff engineers using AutoCAD to ensure projects are completed efficiently while adhering to budgetary constraints, timelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


Conduct thorough reviews of municipal zoning and land development regulations to identify constraints for property development.


Perform Site Investigations & Due Diligence, which includes ordinance reviews, utility service assessments, compliance with external agency regulations, and site evaluations to establish comprehensive development strategies.

Develop Concept Drawings aligned with client objectives and due diligence findings, coordinating with AutoCAD draftsmen to create detailed plans.


Take a leadership role in the design and review of Stormwater Management & Conveyance Systems, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology design software.

Skills required include performing pipe sizing calculations for stormwater systems and creating drainage area maps.

Evaluate surface runoff coefficients, invert levels, slopes, velocities, and hydraulic grade lines using the Rational Method and Manning's Equation.


Execute Grading Design to achieve value engineering through earthwork analysis, ensuring site safety through appropriate design slopes.

Design subdivision layouts and site plans.

Oversee the design of Utility Systems, including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer services, pump stations, and other utilities, while resolving any vertical and horizontal conflicts that may arise.


Implement Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Designs, which involve stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale and spillway designs, and construction sequencing.

Prepare Construction Cost Estimates based on site plan drawings as necessary for bonding and client requirements.

Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously as well as lead a team of engineers.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

4-7+ years of relevant experience in land development or civil/site engineering.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.

Familiarity with local municipal, county, and state land use, planning, and zoning regulations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development designs.

Demonstrated proficiency in Civil 3D, capable of designing site layouts from concept to completion.

Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for effective communication in job-related contexts.
