Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will provide high-quality mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services to adult and child members. You will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for members with acute or chronic mental health needs, working closely with our psychiatric and allied health professional team.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and research methods.
  • Instruct and counsel patients and their families on adherence to prescribed therapeutic regimens and medication regimens, within the scope of your practice.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, confidential records of member treatment and progress, adhering to state and NCQA regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, within the scope of your practice.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation, contributing to the growth and improvement of our Behavioral Health services.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with Couples and Families Endorsement within 24 months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards related to member treatment, patient rights, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous post-license experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team in an outpatient or inpatient setting/program under licensed supervision.
  • Previous clinical responsibility, including crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity, with a commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
