Job Overview:
The Therapeutic Family Support Coordinator will coordinate ongoing communication with families (parents & caregivers). Builds and strengthens collaboration with families to support caregivers in enhancing their child's well-being. Coordinates therapeutic program intakes (including family interviews and goal setting for child). Serves as liaison between therapeutic team and families when appropriate (point person for questions, concerns, feedback, etc.).
About Our Program:
The STAR program is a healing-focused program within Playworks, our education childcare center. Grounded in Dakota values and cultural wellness, the STAR program focuses on healing through relationships, socio-emotional learning, and honoring each child's unique needs and gifts.
STAR program staff include skilled teachers and assistants, therapists and mental health specialists, and occupational and speech-language therapists. Centered on the traditional Native value that children are sacred, the STAR program partners with families to help each child learn, grow, and thrive.
Required Experience:
Master's level preferred, college degree accepted in the following areas (Ed, SW, Psych, Comm. Org., CHW, etc.). Minimal of two years of professional level experience in specialty are preferably in a social/family service environment. Experience working with Native children and families. Experience working in healing-focused and/or trauma-informed environment. Strong knowledge of local community resources & ability to collaborate. Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs. Work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others. This position is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) & alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation
