As a Blood Collection Specialist with the American Red Cross, you will play a vital role in helping people in need throughout the United States and around the world.

As a Blood Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting and setting up equipment at donation sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

We offer paid phlebotomy training, allowing you to grow your healthcare skills and career within the nation's top humanitarian organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive blood collection vehicles to transport required supplies, equipment, blood products, and staff to and from mobile sites.
  • Load and unload trucks and other vehicles.
  • Connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for donors.
  • Be detail-oriented to ensure the blood collected meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused.

Standard Schedule:

To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule, which may include early mornings, late nights, Saturdays, and holidays. The schedule is provided 2-3 weeks in advance.

Pay Information:

Starting rate: $17.83

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • A chauffeur license may be required in some locations.
