Senior Transportation Planner

The City of Sammamish is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to lead the development of innovative transportation solutions that enhance community mobility and promote sustainable growth.

• Develop and implement transportation policies and plans that align with the city's vision and goals.
• Lead complex transportation planning projects, including research, analysis, and coordination with stakeholders.
• Provide technical input to engineering and planning staff, ensuring that designs meet all applicable guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with regional partners to advance transportation projects and initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with city leaders, officials, and the public on transportation policies and plans.

• Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, urban studies, environmental planning, or public administration.
• At least 6 years of experience in transportation planning, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Certified as an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification for Transportation Planners or designation as a Professional Transportation Planner from the Transportation Professional Certification Board, Inc.

• Master's degree in transportation, urban, or regional planning.
• 4 years of leading municipal transportation planning, internally or as a consultant.
