Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve organizational goals
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting teams, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including GAAP and GASB
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in higher education
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience with Ellucian (Colleague) accounting system and GAAP, governmental accounting, and federal regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to work effectively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff
