Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Culinary Operations Manager to join our team at Jim 'N Nick's Community Bar-B-Q. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire culinary operation, ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and food preparation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure that they are performing their duties to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement effective kitchen systems and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Monitor and control kitchen expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new menu items, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are following proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Conduct regular kitchen audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of new kitchen staff, including interviewing and hiring.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that kitchen staff are up-to-date with the latest culinary techniques and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including the storage and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Proven track record of success in kitchen management, including experience with menu planning, inventory control, and food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a hot kitchen environment.

Work Environment

The Lead Culinary Operations Manager will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of activity and noise. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in this environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.


Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
