Job Overview

We are currently in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to join our team at Hands Plus Physical Therapy. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to facilitate effective rehabilitation treatments and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Support: Guide, motivate, and assist patients during their exercise routines and functional activities. Monitor patient responses and progress, providing detailed feedback to the supervising therapist.
  • Collaboration: Engage with physical therapy professionals and other staff to assess and discuss patient information for treatment planning and adjustments.
  • Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to treatment areas, ensuring proper lifting and positioning techniques are utilized.
  • Therapeutic Administration: Implement both active and passive therapeutic exercises, including manual therapy, aquatic therapy, and various modality treatments.
  • Assessment: Measure patient metrics such as range of motion and vital signs to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the operation of therapy equipment and maintain accurate records of usage and treatment administration.
  • Orthotic Fitting: Assist in fitting patients with orthopedic devices, including braces and crutches.
Qualifications:
  • Education: An Associate's degree or certification from an accredited physical therapy program, including coursework in anatomy and clinical practice.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and transfer patients, and perform various physical activities.
  • Skills: Knowledge of physiological principles, health promotion, and the ability to create a safe therapeutic environment. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills are essential.
  • Licensure: A current license is required; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years in a related role is preferred but not mandatory.
