The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is on the lookout for a skilled and driven professional to fill the role of Auditor 2 within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Our mission is to provide high-quality, member-focused services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, promoting independence and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting thorough reviews of documentation and monitoring Home and Community Based Services in accordance with AHCCCS standards. This includes performing statewide on-site audits for both Adult and Child Developmental Programs on an annual basis.
- Preparing detailed monitoring and audit summary reports, verifying corrective action plans submitted by vendors, and ensuring the implementation of ongoing system enhancements. Providing technical assistance as required and maintaining comprehensive tracking databases.
- Establishing and managing electronic agency files to ensure organized record-keeping.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- In-depth knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with the Long-Term Care service delivery system.
- Understanding of federal and state laws, as well as agency regulations and policies related to DDD practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, for data manipulation and presentation.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing and reviewing data and situations critically.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
- Up to two years of experience in conducting compliance audits, preparing comprehensive reports, or evaluating organizational systems, particularly in settings that serve individuals with developmental disabilities.
Pre-Employment Requirements:

- Possession of a valid driver's license if driving is a requirement for the position.
- Successful completion of a background and reference check.
- Compliance with the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
