Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Associate at Henry Ford Health System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with addiction, behavioral problems, or mental health issues. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will perform a range of direct patient care activities, including assessing patients, gathering data, and collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver safe and effective care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide positive interactions and a safe environment to maximize patient well-being
  • Notify managers of any significant patient care issues
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver quality patient care
  • Assess patients and gather data relevant to patient care
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Minimum of one-year college experience in Behavioral Health, Allied Health, Psychology, or a related field
  • Ability to physically manage patients when necessary in a safe and therapeutic manner
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients
  • Ability to work in cooperation with other healthcare providers
Certifications/Licenses
  • Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation
  • Maintain active BLS certification
  • Complete WELLE training within the first three months of becoming a Behavioral Health Technician (location-specific)
  • Maintain active WELLE certification
