Position Overview

Position Summary: The Pipe Foreman will oversee and coordinate activities related to construction sites, typically through subordinate supervisory staff. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in underground utility construction. This role is accountable for the installation of large diameter underground utility pipelines for stormwater or sanitation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with supervisory personnel, project owners, contractors, or design professionals to address and resolve issues such as work procedures, complaints, or construction challenges.
  • Provide guidance to multiple crews and manage their job-site activities.
  • Enhance your team's skills and knowledge in heavy civil construction.
  • Prepare and submit daily field logs, trench inspections, progress reports, code receipts, invoices, and document any changes in conditions that may affect contract costs and schedules.
  • Adapt new or modified plans in response to delays, adverse weather, or emergencies on construction sites.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in underground wet utility installation is essential.
  • Ability to requisition supplies or materials necessary for construction projects.
  • Conduct inspections or reviews of projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure adherence to proper procedures.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, guidelines, and codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of time worked and materials utilized.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman (Preferred).
  • Completion of 10-30 hour OSHA training (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Underground Utility Construction (Preferred).
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Capability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy machinery.
  • Must be capable of working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
