Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct the efforts of Development and Staff Engineers, SWMP Administrator, Public Works Inspectors, and other team members.
  • Advise the Public Works Director on all aspects of city engineering programs, attend meetings, write reports, maintain records, and create standard procedures.
  • Perform civil engineering duties, including planning, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, surveying, preliminary and final design, drafting, contracting, inspection, and preparing specifications and legal descriptions.
  • Oversee the preparation of bonds, manage and coordinate the release of bonds, and ensure all infrastructure is built to City Standards.
  • Represent the City by sitting on various boards and committees, working closely with engineering consultants, developers, contractors, city department heads, division managers, and citizens.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a PE with increasingly responsible work as a civil engineer with a supervisory role.
  • Utah Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • IS-100, IS-200, & IS-700 Certifications within one year of hire date.
Working Conditions:

This position requires moderate to heavy physical activity, including pushing, pulling, or lifting medium to heavy weights. You will work in difficult working positions, stand, walk, or sit in uncomfortable positions for extended periods. You may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, hazardous materials, chemicals, and fumes, and prolonged high noise levels.
