Job Summary:

Responsible for the most complex testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities, including power, software, communications devices, lines, modems, and terminals. Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources. May function in a lead capacity within the department. Provides guidance and direction for less experienced personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts hardware infrastructure site surveys, planning, and design
  • Makes recommendations on hardware, cabling, and equipment requirements
  • Provides installation management to include creating lists of materials, bills of materials, estimating installation project timelines, determining installation team requirements, successfully executing installation projects, and documenting project status
  • Plans, builds, and installs cable patch panels and cable infrastructures
  • Installs and terminates all types of standard IT cable and fiber
  • Provides equipment rack installation and equipment installations within a variety of locations, including data centers, equipment rooms, communications closets, operations centers, and user workspaces
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with network infrastructure and/or components
  • Recommends changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience
  • Required Skillset: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support, comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software, comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
  • Required Certification(s): DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager, IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+, Required Computing Environment (CE) certification: CCNA or equivalent
