Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Data Collection: Obtain a comprehensive medical history, perform thorough physical examinations, and review relevant laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patients' medical, physical, psychological, and socioeconomic status.
  • Assessment: Formulate accurate and appropriate diagnoses based on elicited data, including differential diagnoses as necessary.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with the practice preferences of collaborating physicians, including orders for medication and/or other treatment modalities, the need for additional testing, consultation with other providers, and follow-up provisions.
  • Procedural Considerations: Perform procedures within the limits of your expertise and in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Patient Education and Counseling: Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding their treatment plan, including disease prevention and health promotion.
  • Documentation: Document all examination data, diagnostic impressions, appropriate codes, and other patient care activities in the medical record, including the names of consulted physicians or other providers.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Nursing (for APNs) or Bachelors Degree (for PAs) from an accredited program.
  • Graduation from a program approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing (for APNs) or the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (for PAs).
  • License, Certification, Registration: Physician Assistant License (Colorado) or Nurse Practitioner-Women's Health Certification, Nurse Practitioner-Pediatrics Certification, Nurse Practitioner-Family Certification, or Pathologist's Assistant Certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Registered Nurse License (Colorado) or Nurse Practitioner-Pediatrics Certification, Nurse Practitioner National Certificate, Nurse Practitioner-Family Certification, or Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado).
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years APP experience required.
  • Lactation certification preferred.
  • CNM or FNP certification preferred.
