Are you passionate about enhancing the execution of IT initiatives? We are in search of a Desktop Engineering Project Manager to lead a significant Windows 11 upgrade initiative. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, eager for professional advancement, and keen on managing extensive IT projects across various sectors within an Investor-Owned Utility organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the field services team to create a timeline and oversee the deployment of either a virtual Windows 11 upgrade for compatible devices or a hardware refresh for those that are not.
  • Establish a shared document repository and gather business requirements from application services, infrastructure operations, desktop engineering, and information security.
  • Work alongside the desktop engineering lead to formulate test scripts and define pass/fail criteria, ensuring that test results are accurately documented.
  • Maintain a RAID log and facilitate critical go/no-go decisions.
  • Support Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities across support teams and effectively communicate with business users in partnership with our OCM group.
  • Direct project team members, manage budget and timelines, ensure compliance with contracts, and act as the primary interface with clients.
  • Oversee technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills to engage cross-functional teams in addressing business needs for the projects.
  • Manage project teams that typically include multiple vendors, both onshore and offshore.
  • Create comprehensive project management plans, set clear expectations, conduct governance reviews, and ensure adherence to organizational procedures.
  • Ensure that requirements are collected, documented, reviewed, and approved in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Provide high-quality written and verbal project communications, including weekly updates, dashboards, and project summaries.
  • Actively monitor and manage project tasks, timelines, and the quality of deliverables, while providing monthly forecasts and accruals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of 6 years of robust Project Management experience.
  • Prior experience managing Windows Upgrade projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management principles, including financial management, scheduling, scope, and testing, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of Project Management methodologies and practices.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships and partnerships.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to data protection guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the utility sector is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $40-$54.42

The salary range reflects the expected compensation for the role; however, final offers will be determined based on various factors including responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
