Position Overview:
Provides direct nursing care in alignment with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare institution.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Applies standards of medical-surgical nursing to enhance patient care and quality of life by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
- Cultivates effective relationships and advocates for patients and their families to develop personalized care plans.
- Employs the nursing process to create and execute care plans, gather assessment data, identify nursing diagnoses, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Develops assessment and management strategies considering the multifaceted dimensions of health responses.
- Demonstrates understanding of the effects of illness on each patient's overall status.
- Utilizes leadership abilities to coordinate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in assessing needs and planning interventions.
- Engages in effective communication with patients and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
- Educates patients and families on health maintenance and restoration strategies.
- Promotes a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into nursing care tailored to patients' age-specific and clinical needs.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety in the workplace.
- May conduct point-of-care testing as per established protocols.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- No prior experience necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly communicates verbally to share information.
- Constantly stands and walks.
- Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
