Position Overview:

Provides direct nursing care in alignment with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare institution.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Applies standards of medical-surgical nursing to enhance patient care and quality of life by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
  • Cultivates effective relationships and advocates for patients and their families to develop personalized care plans.
  • Employs the nursing process to create and execute care plans, gather assessment data, identify nursing diagnoses, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Develops assessment and management strategies considering the multifaceted dimensions of health responses.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the effects of illness on each patient's overall status.
  • Utilizes leadership abilities to coordinate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in assessing needs and planning interventions.
  • Engages in effective communication with patients and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
  • Educates patients and families on health maintenance and restoration strategies.
  • Promotes a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into nursing care tailored to patients' age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety in the workplace.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing as per established protocols.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior experience necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly communicates verbally to share information.
  • Constantly stands and walks.
  • Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly engages in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
