Scope of the Role:

Under the guidance of our experienced team, you will perform mammography exams, screening and diagnostic studies, and needle localizations. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical quality of procedures and maintaining knowledge of quality control and OSHA guidelines. Your work will involve operating within standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks, while supporting and adhering to our US Oncology Compliance Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine digital mammography procedures as ordered, computing and selecting proper technical factors based on patient size, physical condition, and suspected pathology.
2. Prepare each patient for examination by confirming patient history and explaining the exam process, communicating patient details and areas of concern to physicians and others as appropriate.
3. Enter exam details and charge information into the computer, maintaining supplies for diagnostic procedures.
4. Ensure films and records are properly completed with relevant patient identification data and film labeling requirements.
5. Prepare, adjust, and clean equipment, patient exam area, and dark room, checking equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition and notifying technicians when repairs are needed.
6. Follow all safety standards and ensure the physical comfort and safety of patients during procedures, providing the proper protective gear, such as radiation badge monitors, to individuals in the exam area.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology and/or School of Mammography (MQSA)

Current:
CPR certificate or American Registry of Radiology Technologist required. Some ultrasound work experience preferred.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment:


The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
