Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Ohio Department of Commerce. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment
  • Assist in the installation and replacement of lighting fixtures, light bulbs, and other electrical components
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve maintenance issues
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects and tasks
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology or industrial trades technology preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in construction or building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required for operating motorized equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
