About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Allergy Partners. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Responsibilities:
    • Take patient history and record information in the patient's chart.
    • Confer with physicians about new patient findings and potential diagnosis and treatment.
    • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
    • Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and record progress.
    • Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
    • Provide diagnosis and treatment services to established patients.
    • Prescribe medications, treatments, and immunotherapy in accordance with physician protocols.
    • Formulate and update patient care plans; consult with physicians as needed.
    • Perform patient education duties; show immunotherapy videos, hand out brochures, and direct patients to specific Internet sites for more information.
    • Act as backup and put patients in rooms as needed.
    • Transmit prescription requests to pharmacy; document action in patient chart and obtain physician signature of approval.
    • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure emergency situations are scheduled appropriately; maintain timely flow of patients.
    • Return patient phone messages at designated times throughout the day; document action taken in patient chart.
    • Triage incoming telephone calls; instruct patient and family regarding treatment instruction, then document action taken in patient chart.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
    • Maintain detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
    • Attend CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs as required.
    • Attend all regular meetings.
    • Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager.
    • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
    • Conduct educational seminars for patients, employers, and others.
    • Complete all assigned AP training (such as CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, others) within designated timeframes.
    • Comply with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and report incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • PA degree required.
    • Current licensure maintained.
  • Experience and Qualifications:
    • At least two years of experience in a physician office or hospital.
    • Ability to make independent decisions about patient care.
    • Experience diagnosing and treating patients.
    • Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population.
    • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
    • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Neat, professional appearance.

Estimated Salary: $95,000 per year, based on experience.
