Job Summary

Piedmont Medical Care Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant CMA to join our team. As a Medical Assistant CMA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient medical and physical histories, ensuring accurate and timely completion of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) entries.
  • Record vital signs, perform EKGs, spirometry, and other office procedures, and assist licensed staff during patient treatment and examination.
  • Perform lab duties, including phlebotomy, order entry, specimen collection, and labeling for delivery to testing authorities.
  • Under the supervision of licensed personnel, distribute educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Coordinate telephone and in-basket requests for prescription refills and test results, responding accordingly to provider instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Practice Standard Precautions, adhering to risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures.
  • Attend required meetings, in-services, and participate in committees as needed.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including procedure scheduling and completion of medical and physical history forms.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program.
  • None required.
  • BLS certification and certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization.
