Project Scientist Series Pool Ad

Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, is seeking highly qualified candidates for appointments in the Project Scientist Series. This is an ongoing recruitment, and positions are dependent upon availability of funding (extramural and/or departmental).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent research under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
  • Help supervise graduate and undergraduate student researchers.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant proposals.
  • Communicate effectively with other scientists worldwide.
  • Carry out experiments and analyze data generated with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain equipment, if needed.
  • Train and assist various personnel in data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of research experience in an academic setting or equivalent.
  • Experience in small animal surgical procedures, if required.
  • Experience with specific laboratory procedures, data processing, as required in the study.
