Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Specialist to join our team at Craft Recruiting. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic through our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and Maintenance: Establish and maintain temporary work zones, including warning signs, traffic cones, stop slow paddles, and rumble strips.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with drivers and pedestrians to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Traffic Control: Maintain traffic controls in all assigned work zones and report any issues or concerns.
  • Protocol and Safety: Understand and follow general work flow patterns and ensure proper protocol and traffic requirements are followed.
  • Sign Placement and Removal: Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
  • Traffic Direction: Direct the movement of traffic through the site using sign, hand, and flag signals.
  • Incident Prevention: Inform construction workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Detour Information: Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Environmental Conditions: Work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work Schedule: Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
  • Equipment Operation: May be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, and scaffolds to access required equipment and work areas.
  • Confined Spaces: Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment and move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
