Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Provide World Class customer service and a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience to our customers.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Build relationships with customers to create sales and educate them on our gourmet products.
  • Store Operations: Maintain and restock display areas, check stock status and item prices, process customer orders, and operate equipment/machinery as needed.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Requirements

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to represent Big Y's Culture of Caring and The Pursuit of Excellence through Firm Foundations (Character, Collaboration, Personal Development, Actions & Results).
  • Product Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate a passion for and pairing of food through interactive sales techniques.
  • Appearance and Attitude: Project a clean and professional appearance and maintain a positive attitude and businesslike conduct.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through in all aspects of the job.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn and utilize computer applications.
  • Age and Background: Must be 21 years of age and consent to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.
