About the Role

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing secure solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO): Provide technical input, recommendations, and assistance with the implementation of cyber security approaches, methods, and solutions that incorporate and maintain compliance to requirements resulting from laws, regulations, and other pertinent guidance.
  2. Acquisition Support: Participate in acquisition meetings, concept of operation (CONOP) working groups, change boards, technical exchange meetings, and other similar activities.
  3. Security Requirements Development: Design and develop security requirements that drive down risk while maintaining operational capability.
  4. System-Wide Security View: Work between architecture-level and implementation-level engineering meetings to maintain a system-wide view of security functions and apply risk mitigation strategies at the appropriate level.
  5. Defense Contractor Oversight: Guide and verify defense contractors' work against program requirements and goals.
  6. Program Manager Interface: Interface with program managers to explain security requirements, risks, and mitigations relative to their priorities of cost and schedule.
  7. Threat and Vulnerability Assessment: Evaluate newly identified threats and vulnerabilities to customer information systems to ascertain the need for additional safeguards and develop timely implementation strategies to reduce risk.
  8. Trusted Relationships: Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  9. Change Impact Assessment
  10. Development Team Support: Provide inputs to development teams responsible for designing and developing organizational information systems and upgrading legacy systems.
  11. Best Practices Implementation: Employ best practices when implementing security requirements for information systems, including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques.
  12. Security Technology and Threats: Keep abreast of current and new security technologies and threats to better support the customer in maintaining cybersecurity resilience.
  13. Integration Issues: Identify integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure and recommend mitigation and/or resolution options as appropriate.
  14. Multi-Enclave Systems Design: Assist in the design of systems and networks that encompass multiple enclaves to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.
Qualifications
  1. Technical Experience: 8+ years' technical experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or systems engineering.
  2. Security Clearance: Active TS required, SCI Eligible.
  3. Cybersecurity Knowledge: Able to demonstrate understanding of cybersecurity needs of systems at varied stages of the SDLC.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Firm understanding of the DoD M, DoDM, Volume 1, Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) Number 503.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly translate client technical needs into technical specifications.
  6. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Risk Assessment: Demonstrated ability to assess and articulate risk, including to non-technical audiences.
Desired Qualifications
  1. STIG Implementation Experience: Experience working on DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation.
  2. Government Client Experience: Experience working on-site in a government client environment.
  3. SCIF/SAPF Experience: Familiarity with security procedures while working in a SCIF/SAPF environment.
  4. Cloud Security Experience: Cloud Security Implementation experience.
  5. NSA Requirements: Familiarity and experience with NSA requirements for COMSEC.
  6. DoD Acquisition Lifecycle Experience: Experience with DoD Acquisition Lifecycle experience and/or Rapid Acquisition / Rapid Delivery experience.
  7. System Security Engineering Expertise: Capable of applying system security engineering expertise to various client programs/processes.
Education Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, networking, or programming.
  2. Master's Degree: Master's degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, networking, or programming (DESIRED).
Certification Requirements
  1. CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP or (CISSP-ISSEP/CISSP-ISSAP) DESIRED.
  2. CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
  3. AWS Architect: AWS Architect or other similar cloud technology security certification.
Clearance Requirements

Security Clearance Level Required: Top Secret. Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required.
