Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Sr. Specialist to join our team at Berkshire Hathaway. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Safety Management: Develop and implement process safety management systems to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards associated with our manufacturing processes.
  • Dust Hazard Analysis: Conduct thorough dust hazard analyses to ensure the safe handling and storage of combustible dusts.
  • Thermal Safety and Pressure Vessel Programs: Oversee the implementation of thermal safety and pressure vessel programs, including the identification of safety devices, ITM schedules, and training records.
  • Emergency Response and Business Continuity: Develop and implement emergency response plans and business continuity strategies to ensure the safety of our employees and the continuity of our operations.
  • System Ownership: Ensure compliance with regulations and company guidelines for various programs, including safety management systems, fall protection, and contractor management.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with a team of HSES professionals to promote a culture of safety and support the development of safety goals and metrics.
  • Audit and Risk Assessment: Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to ensure the safety and compliance of our employees.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in occupational safety or related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of safety-related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of NFPA and OSHA regulations, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
