Job Overview

The HVAC Estimator plays a crucial role in our organization by evaluating blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive time, cost, and labor estimates for various projects and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data to ascertain material and labor needs, generating detailed itemized lists.
  • Calculate cost factors and develop estimates for management use, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, and selecting vendors or subcontractors.
  • Conduct specialized studies aimed at enhancing the cost-effectiveness of projects.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and Department Managers to discuss and formulate estimates while addressing any arising issues.
  • Collaborate with the Service and IAQ Departments on assigned projects as directed by the Installation Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, or Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an Estimator in the HVACR contracting or building-related services sector.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, and the public.
  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, and geometry, with the ability to apply these concepts in practical scenarios.
  • Possession of all necessary certificates, licenses, and registrations required to perform services in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Physical capability to fulfill essential job functions, including climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in confined spaces, as well as the ability to lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate all types of vehicles in the corporate fleet.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new software and technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and company-specific estimating software.
