UG Maintenance Foreman Job Summary

As a UG Maintenance Foreman at Blackhawk Mining, you will be responsible for supervising the maintenance and electrical functions for the assigned area of the mine. Your primary goal will be to maintain equipment in a ready and permissible condition, reducing downtime and increasing cost-effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain the mine electrical system in a safe and permissible condition.
  • Direct electrical repair work to ensure safe and efficient completion.
  • Supervise all maintenance to mobile and stationary equipment in the assigned area.
  • Maintain communication equipment in operable condition.
  • Regularly perform permissible checks on all electrical equipment.
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program for the assigned area.
  • Ensure all electrical/maintenance reports required by law or company policy are completed.
  • Regularly inspect equipment to ensure operating condition and remove from service for repair when required.
  • Order parts and supplies for repair work.
  • Participate in the evaluation of equipment life as to rebuilds or replacements.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of UG electricity, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics, and welding.
  • Able to read prints.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting for electrical and maintenance problems.
Requirements:

  • WV/MSHA Underground Low, Medium, and High Voltage Electrical certification required.
  • WV Underground Miner certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years underground maintenance experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years underground supervisory experience required.
  • WV Underground Mine Foreman certification (preferred).
  • Emergency medical technician (preferred).
