About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Shop Foreman. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for scheduling and performing school bus fleet maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex problems, and maintaining service records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of technicians in the shop.
  • Generate work orders and track progress through completion.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of all vehicle components to effectively diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor shop operational performance and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed (training provided).
  • At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
  • Previous experience in a lead technician, supervisor, or other management role is preferred.
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set.
  • Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).
  • Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.

  • $32 - $34 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
  • An additional $0.25 per hour for each ASE certification held or obtained.
