Job Overview:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for executing imaging procedures at a proficient level. This role requires meeting the necessary qualifications to deliver care for patients within the designated age range in their assigned clinical area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and adheres to safety protocols within the Magnetic Resonance environment.
  • Ensures the safety of patients and staff in compliance with established safety standards.
  • Prepares and positions patients for Magnetic Resonance procedures; thoroughly explains the examination process and addresses any patient inquiries.
  • Conducts Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, including neuro, body, and extremity scans, following protocols established by a Radiologist.
  • Performs venous access on patients requiring IV contrast administration as directed by a Radiologist.
  • Inputs necessary data into Radiology Imaging Systems, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System Image Management Systems.
  • Processes images as required.
  • Possesses the ability to identify anatomical structures on images.
  • Conducts quality control tests on equipment and reports any discrepancies.
  • Alerts the Team Leader and relevant maintenance personnel regarding equipment malfunctions.
  • Shares responsibilities for inventory management; informs appropriate personnel of supply levels.
  • Acts as a liaison within Radiology; provides radiological support to physicians as needed; escalates issues to the Team Leader.
  • Handles non-controlled medications during imaging exams and procedure tray setups.
Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting. The MRI Technologist is accountable for fulfilling all job-specific obligations and adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
