Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for conducting imaging procedures at a technical level. This role requires the ability to provide care for patients across specific age groups within the designated clinical area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the Magnetic Resonance imaging process and adheres to safety protocols within the Magnetic Resonance environment.
  • Ensures the safety of patients and staff by following established safety standards.
  • Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures, providing thorough explanations and addressing any questions.
  • Executes MRI procedures, including neuro, body, and extremity imaging, in accordance with protocols established by a Radiologist.
  • Administers venous access for patients requiring IV contrast as directed by a Radiologist.
  • Inputs necessary information into Radiology Imaging Systems, IDX Imaging Suite, and Picture Archive Communication System Image Management Systems.
  • Processes images as required.
  • Exhibits the ability to identify anatomical structures on images.
  • Conducts quality control tests on equipment and reports any discrepancies.
  • Alerts the Team Leader and appropriate maintenance personnel regarding equipment malfunctions.
  • Shares responsibilities for inventory management, notifying relevant personnel of supply levels.
  • Acts as a liaison for Radiology, providing support to physicians as needed and referring issues to the Team Leader.
  • Handles non-controlled medications during imaging exams and procedure tray setups.
Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting. The individual is accountable for fulfilling all job-specific responsibilities and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s):
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Certified Radiology Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
