About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Sensient Technologies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment, control systems, and instruments in our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, and other electrical components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment and components to ensure continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Document maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and remove transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and work with electrical systems.
  • Provide proper installation and diagnosis of AC/DC motors and controls, including across the line, soft starters, and VFDs.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus plant-wide.
Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited Industrial Electrical, Instrument, or Technician program and a minimum of 4 years of work experience in electrical maintenance or a Journeyman Card Electrician status.
  • Thorough understanding of 3-phase power and its distribution.
  • Thorough understanding of 120vac circuits and pneumatic controls with the ability to repair.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair relay circuits.
  • Clear understanding of the National Electric Code.
  • Able to layout and bend conduit accurately and to NEC specifications.
  • Able to do basic load calculations.
  • Complete tasks such as installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting fixtures, and controls, testing electrical and power circuits, and any other electrical devices.
  • Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuses, etc.
  • Inspect motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, power circuits, and any other electrical devices.
  • Work safely using PPE and LOTO.
  • Trained in ARC flash safety and risk avoidance.
  • Able to read, understand, and troubleshoot using electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Flexibility to work off-shift and be available for call-ins and repairs.
