Job Title: RN - Novice Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN to join our Home Health New Graduate Nursing Program at Maxim Healthcare Services.

About the Role:

As a Novice Nurse, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a home setting, working one-on-one with patients and developing your skills in direct patient care, care management, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities:
  • Re-evaluate patient nursing needs regularly
  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services
  • Initiate the plan of care when directed and request necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
  • Assure patient safety at all times
  • Intervene as applicable to changes in condition and report changes to appropriate supervisor and/or physician
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and monitor and document effectiveness of intervention
  • Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment, including universal precautions
  • Review plan of care, program protocols, and identify areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting, and discharge planning needs as applicable
  • Document all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicate as needed
  • Support professional practice by observing the following: Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Nursing Practice, Standards of Patient Care, Standards of Accrediting Body, State and Local Laws, Patient Bill of Rights, Maxim Healthcare, Nursing, and Clients Policies
  • Adhere to Maxim policy and procedure and applicable protocols
  • Attend case conferences, team meetings, education in-services as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • License Required
  • A minimum GPA requirement is expected
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice
  • Current BLS
  • PPD or chest X-ray if applicable
  • Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Program orientation and training
