Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation Security Supervisor to join our team at ACTS-Aviation Security Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the security operations at the Minneapolis St. Paul (MSP) Airport, ensuring the safety and security of the airport and its passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the security team, ensuring compliance with TSA and airline regulations.
  • Control access to restricted areas of the airport, screening and logging individuals and vehicles as necessary.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections at perimeter access points and non-secure areas.
  • Screen employees, vendors, visitors, and their belongings using x-ray machines, hand wands, and/or magnetometers.
  • Monitor and secure exit lanes from sterile areas to public areas of the airport.
  • Provide escorts and security for construction projects.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies.
  • Provide passenger assistance.
  • Assist in scheduling and assigning security officers to ensure proper coverage and relief.
  • Perform regular audits of employee work performance.
  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly activities to management.
  • Conduct training and documentation for new employees.
  • Discipline security officers as necessary.
  • Maintain collective bargaining agreements and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of verifiable previous contract security, military, or law enforcement experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Must pass a Criminal History Record Check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Must meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Officers.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance.
  • Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, including standing or walking an entire shift and lifting a 25lb fire extinguisher.
