Role Description
We enhance machine intelligence for prominent corporations by refining AI technologies through natural language processing. We are in search of experienced Computational Linguists who are native speakers of French, Italian, or English (UK/IE/AU) to collaborate closely with our esteemed clients.

Work Schedule:
Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.

Work Environment:
On-site collaboration with our partners.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate of $50.

Key Responsibilities:
Linguists will play a crucial role in developing NLU workflows and processes by:

  • Defining and executing data annotation pipelines and guidelines.
  • Creating and managing golden datasets and training datasets.
  • Establishing evaluation criteria and enhancing operational processes.
  • Contributing to upskilling initiatives.


Specific Tasks:
The Computational Linguist will be integral in advancing our client's NLP/NLU systems through various activities, including but not limited to:

  • Annotating and reviewing linguistic data, including part of speech and semantic annotations.
  • Conducting data collection and analysis.
  • Labeling text for clarity and normalization.
  • Assessing system outputs, identifying errors, and proposing solutions.
  • Engaging in translation and localization efforts.
  • Developing and evaluating training and test datasets.
  • Implementing prompt engineering techniques.


Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:

  • Native proficiency in the target language and fluency in English.
  • Proficient in Python scripting and adaptation.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL query development.
  • Experience in data annotation tasks.
  • Understanding of linguistic principles such as semantics, syntax, and morphology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously with confidence.


Preferred Skills:

  • A degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or Computer Science with a linguistic focus.
  • Capacity to quickly learn technical concepts and in-house tools.
