Lead Quality Technician

The Lead Quality Technician will provide direction and support to the shift team, driving compliance with standard operating procedures and policies. This role will champion a safety culture, ensuring a safe work environment and promoting safe behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor the environment and take corrective action to ensure employee safety and security
• Communicate with employees to ensure they learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies
• Prepare training plans and conduct or assign safety, maintenance, machine operation, and quality assurance training to new employees
• Prepare documentation and provide performance feedback to introductory employees
• Provide feedback to plant leaders concerning employee performance and behavior
Production Responsibilities:
• Operate blow mold machines and other related equipment
• Analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other data to drive production requirements
• Perform and/or assign personnel to conduct audits, weights, and quality checks
• Troubleshoot and resolve process problems and make minor repairs to blow-mold and support equipment
Maintenance Responsibilities:
• Load and unload trucks and secure product in accordance with customer requirements
• Inspect incoming materials
• Perform mold, neck tooling, pin, and other equipment changes
• Install, adjust, and repair blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers, and other related equipment
Warehouse Responsibilities:
• Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
• Determine the method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment
Quality Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement quality-related training programs for all employees
• Apply statistical tools and techniques to monitor plant performance and finished goods
• Perform in-process inspections of manufactured product during molding, packaging, and loading
Other Responsibilities:
• Group Lead will have responsibility for two or more departments (i.e., Production, Warehouse, etc.)
• Lead will have responsibility for one mid-to-large department or a limited number of shift employees
Requirements:
• 1-3 years of experience
• High School diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
• Manufacturing experience
• Associates degree or equivalent
