Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care and coordinating all unit functions during designated shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care services and collaborate with subject matter experts to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse License issued by the Department of Health Professions, Commonwealth of Virginia, or multi-state privilege granted by holding a license in one of the participating states.
  • BSN or enrollment in BSN program required within first two years of employment and completion of BSN within five years.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Two years Registered Nurse experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management within the specialty is required.
