Position: Associate Attorney - Construction Litigation
About the Role:
Our client, a prestigious AM 200 Firm, is in search of a Construction Litigation Associate with expertise in managing legal conflicts arising from construction activities. This position will represent contractors, subcontractors, developers, and various stakeholders in the construction sector to address disputes concerning contracts, design flaws, construction defects, and other challenges that may occur throughout a construction project. Additionally, the role involves defending builder's liens and overseeing debt recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage cases from initial intake through trial or arbitration with minimal supervision.
- Conduct thorough legal research and evaluate case law to formulate effective dispute resolution strategies.
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs and pleadings, pertinent to litigation.
- Represent clients in court and engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties.
- Handle a diverse caseload of construction-related litigation matters.
- Collaborate with teams of attorneys, paralegals, and support personnel to analyze evidence and prepare for trial.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive maintenance of case files and legal databases.
- Participate in alternative dispute resolution methods, such as arbitration or mediation, to settle construction disputes outside of court.
- Provide legal counsel to clients on construction-related issues, including zoning laws, land use regulations, building codes, and insurance matters.
- Facilitate mediation and defend against builder's liens and debt recovery efforts.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Litigation.
- Valid license to practice law in Tennessee with good standing.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and writing capabilities, alongside strong communication and negotiation skills, are crucial for success in this position.
- A proactive individual with robust academic qualifications.
