Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and have a passion for working with children. About the Role: In this position, you will work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to provide direct support to students with speech and language disorders. Your responsibilities will include preparing instruction materials, maintaining classroom discipline, and conducting planned activities using designated methods and materials. You will also assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities, as directed by the speech-language pathologist. Additionally, you will perform checks and maintenance of equipment and assist with departmental operations, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and safety/maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must hold an Associate's degree in speech-language pathology assisting, a Bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders, or a Post baccalaureate certificate in communication sciences and disorders. Essential Responsibilities: Provide high-quality speech-language therapy services under the direction and supervision of a certified SLP. Assist in working with school-age students who have been identified with speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, auditory comprehension, and expressive language. Keep current on best practices for SLPA's. Contribute productively to the school as a whole. Assignment may require travel between schools. Self-identify as SLPA to families, students, staff, and others. Assist the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation. Assist the SLP during assessment of students exclusive of administration and/or interpretation. Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP. Document student performance (e.g., tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP. Perform other duties as assigned.
