Job Summary

The Pharmacist II role at Bassett Healthcare Network is a critical position that requires a highly skilled and dedicated professional to provide patient-focused healthcare services.

As a Pharmacist II, you will work closely with our team to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapies for our patients. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense medication orders according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure safe and appropriate medication therapies for patients, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy support personnel, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring alignment with NYS Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Verify daily activities of pharmacy technicians, identifying and addressing errors in a constructive manner.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience as a practicing Pharmacist.
  • Mastery of specialized skills applicable to the current role, including immunization, oncology, IV pumps, EMR, and other pharmacy technology.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialty (BPS) Certification or national or organizational certification.
  • Membership in national and/or regional pharmacy organizations (ASHP, NYSCHP, ACCP, APhA, etc.) preferred.
Working Conditions

The Pharmacist II role requires occasional exposure to bodily fluids, chemical hazards, and extreme temperatures. The position also involves frequent noise and travel to other sites in the Network.
