AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides individuals with leadership development, professional experience, and a chance to serve their communities. As a Public Health Service Coordinator, you will be working closely with non-profit agencies to engage volunteers and provide emergency readiness education to vulnerable communities.

This position requires approximately 40+ hours of service per week for 5.5 months. The program dates are between February 17th and August 22nd. You must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, be self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. Previous experience as a Red Cross or youth volunteer is a plus, and bilingual language skills in Spanish are highly desired.

About the Role
  • Identify and conduct outreach within communities and partner locations to recruit diverse volunteers
  • Navigate the onboarding process for new volunteers
  • Deliver preparedness presentations and hands-only CPR instruction
  • Support communities during emergencies
