This program offers a unique opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge and practical experience, giving interns a competitive edge upon graduation.
The Construction Trainee role is primarily a summer position that allows individuals to collaborate with a project team and gain insights in preparation for a career in Construction Project Management. Interns may be involved in various stages of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to project completion. Responsibilities may encompass:
- Soliciting subcontractors
- Conducting quantity takeoffs
- Maintaining project documentation
- Coordinating and supervising field activities
Compensation:
$22 - $24/hr.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing quantity takeoffs
- Managing material logs
- Generating project reports
- Handling correspondence
- Reviewing and assessing the suitability of shop drawings and submittals
- Tracking the status of change orders
- Monitoring Requests for Information
- Collecting, verifying, and distributing as-built documentation
- Reading blueprints
- Preparing Close Out Documentation
Requirements
Candidates should be enrolled in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Business, or related majors within the built environment. Familiarity with construction-related technology, such as Blue Beam, Revit, and Procore, is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling is preferred.
