We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our Radiology Breast Imaging Department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of a Radiologist, produce high-quality breast radiographs to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease for both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of breast imaging protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient imaging.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal imaging outcomes.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of patient care.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of breast imaging equipment and technology to ensure optimal performance and maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- High school graduate or equivalency required.
- Certificate from an approved AMA program in Radiological Technology required.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Current Advanced Certification Certificate in Mammography by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a radiographer.
- Required to do weekly QC.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate good decision-making and judgment skills.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
- Experience with diagnostic/procedures 2 years.
- Experience with automated whole breast (ABUS imaging).
