About the Role

The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our Diagnostic Team. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in acquiring high-quality Mammography images that are used for medical diagnoses and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine Mammography Imaging exams and procedures
  • Utilize department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
  • Obtain detailed history from patient and medical record
  • Educate patients on breast care
  • Navigate electronic medical record and other information systems utilized to process imaging
  • Schedule patients for exams and assist with some regulatory clerical functions
  • Perform all quality control functions related to mammography equipment
  • Assist in training and education of Mammography students
  • Participate in the enforcement of Radiation safety practices
  • Respond to patient and/or staff service and patient experience issues
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current/Valid registration or certification in medical radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current/Valid licensure in medical radiography by the State of Illinois (IEMA)
  • Modality specific certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in Mammography
  • Current/Valid American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
