- Train new designers and provide guidance on mechanical design principles and best practices.
- Select materials for components and assemblies, considering factors such as cost, durability, and sustainability.
- Create databases for new parts and bills of materials, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Check and define the fit, form, and function of each part, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Perform mechanical design calculations as necessary, using tools such as CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience in machine and shop background, with a focus on mechanical design and industrial design.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality designs and solutions.
