About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at IMI Americas, Inc. in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing severe service control valves to customer design specifications, ASME Section III, and internal design standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop severe service control valves to meet customer requirements and internal design standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets customer needs and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, seismic analyses, and environmental qualification reports.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical product design, preferably in the nuclear industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, CAD software (ACAD, SolidWorks preferred), and mechanical design principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture and familiarity with control valve applications in nuclear power plants.
  • Previous experience working in a ASME Nuclear Quality Program environment.
  • PE license and experience with ASME and NUPIC audits.
