Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Della Infotech. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including waived, moderate, and highly complex tests.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and verify quality control results, documenting corrective action taken to resolve any QC outliers.
  • Verify correct labeling of all specimens prior to testing and notify laboratory supervisor of all labeling errors.
  • Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
  • Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics.
  • Report results accurately in computer with less than 2 errors per year which require a corrected report.
  • Critical values are called to the nursing unit or physician within time limits established by the laboratory and accurately document read-back for results called.
  • Regularly perform routine and periodic instrument maintenance as recommended by manufacturer or policy.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex instrument troubleshooting and call vendor technical service promptly with more complicated problems.
  • Perform testing on Proficiency Testing samples in accordance with laboratory procedure and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform thorough investigation and documentation of corrective action taken on proficiency testing outliers.
  • When performing data entry, accurately enter specimen information into computer.

Requirements:

  • ASCP certification, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
